Celebrating the spirit of youth

Models can have braces. Boys can be beautiful. Despite the title, there is nothing off with “I Love Fake.” The biannual fashion magazine celebrates the spirit of youth with work by upcoming and established photographers, artists, and fashion designers. Founder and photographer Jolijn Snijders, together with stylist Jordy Huinder asked us to provide the art direction and design for the indie magazine.

Possibility of experiment

Everything is allowed as long as it is different, carte blanche for designing a rebellious magazine. To arrive at an authentic magazine formula, we looked up the experiment and took a lot of freedom. A mix of unconventional fonts, off-the-wall photography, and diverse use of layout solutions makes the magazine young, rebellious, and timeless. We made 2 editions in which all boundaries were explored, making the magazine recognizable and successful.
